ICNA Membership Types and Benefits
ICNA is a respected international group of child neurologists who wish to advance the care of children with neurological problems throughout the world.
We invite all child neurologists to join the association. There are several benefits for Members including full access to the ICNAPedia resource, subscription to the half yearly Newsletters and the reputed IRCN Series. Most importantly Your membership and active participation is critical in further advancing child neurology around the world, especially in developing countries, which will ultimately benefit from possibilities of diagnoses, treatment alternatives, and general care of the patients, as well as from education and training.

How to apply
Active Membership [return]
Fully trained pediatric neurologist who has attained the certification or credentialling that is recognized in their venue. An applicant for Active ICNA Membership must be a licensed physician whose practice is substantially limited to child neurology. Further, an applicant for Active International Membership must be a member of the local or regional child neurology society. One of your letters of recommendation should come from individuals who have knowledge of these local requirements and will attest to your credentials.
Eligibility
An applicant for Active Membership of the ICNA must be a licensed physician whose practice is substantially limited to child neurology. Further, an applicant for Active Membership must:Meet at least one of the following:
(A) be certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with Special Competence in Child Neurology, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (neurology -pediatric stream) , General Medical Council UK specialist register, Royal Australasian college of physicians or equivalent in their country of practice;
OR have completed the residency training requirements of a program approved by the Psychiatry and Neurology, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, General Medical Council UK specialist register Royal Australasian college of physicians or equivalent in their country of practice ;
OR have acceptable academic training equivalent to the requirements for eligibility for examination by Psychiatry and Neurology, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, General Medical Council UK specialist register Royal Australasian college of physicians or equivalent in their country of practice;
OR have an outstanding record in the field of child neurology over a period of years, due to the high standard of quality of the applicants work; AND
(B) be a member in good standing in the applicant’s local or regional medical society or equivalent documentation of good standing in the local medical community (e.g. active hospital privileges) except for applicants who are officers in the Armed Forces; AND
(C) have a record consistent with the highest standards of the profession.

ICNA Associate membership is open to Physicians and/or scientists who are not practising paediatric neurologists but have shown distinction in a neurologically-related discipline such as neuroscience research, neurosurgery, neurorehabilitation, etc. Please provide an explanation of your relationship to pediatric neurology in your application.
Junior (Resident) Membership [return]
To become a Resident Member, you must:Be a resident in good standing in a child neurological training program in their respective countryProvide a signed letter from the applicable program or fellowship director that the applicant is a resident or fellow in good standing.

Applicants must submit for consideration a complete and signed Active Membership Application, either online or offline, along with verification of their primary neurological training and if applicable verification of their regional child neurology society/association membership.
