About The Topic:
Epilepsy associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) often presents with a wide spectrum of focal seizures as well as severe seizure types, including epileptic spasms. In recent years, the use of mTOR inhibitors has relatively increased as a therapeutic option for seizure control. When medical treatment fails to achieve sufficient efficacy, epilepsy surgery may be required. In this session, these aspects of the management of epilepsy associated with TSC will be explained by Tohru Okanishi, a leading expert in Japan.
