About the topic

Child neurology training and post-training pathways vary globally and according to individual aims. However, irrespective of region, child neurologists often face the same challenges early in their career, including discrepancies in child neurology training programs, the transition from training to independent practice, balance between clinical practice and research, the ongoing tendency towards sub-sub specialization, and the increasing demand for access to precision diagnosis and treatments.

Given the current shifts in the geopolitical climate, including new constraints in research funding and impact on academic stewardship at institutes of higher learning, further challenges for child neurologists are likely to emerge. This is particularly relevant as child neurology training is more formally scrutinized and evaluated through various research projects. Therefore, this webinar discusses the journey of the early-career child neurologist from the training program to specialist practice, highlighting common challenges and experiences using a narrative and interactive approach.
