Lakshmi Nagarajan : Talk Title - Advocating for Children with Epilepsy for Better Care
About the topic:
Children with epilepsy-CWE have unique needs and often face stigma from family and society.
As they cannot advocate for themselves, it is imperative that they have ambassadors from all aspects of life to promote their wellbeing.
Advocacy for CWE for better care must address many facets: community education and awareness, political willingness, sound national governance, societal attitudes, socioeconomic stability, proficient health professionals and targeted research.

Claire Nolan : Talk Title - The Global Epilepsy Needs Study explored the current unmet needs daily needs - beyond seizures - of people with epilepsy.
About the topic:
The study was planned and delivered as a collaboration between the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE), 18 of its member organisations, healthcare professionals, researchers and people with lived experience of epilepsy. Over 5,000 people from 15 countries around the world completed a survey exploring 10 domains of life. 75 people (5 per country) took part in semi structured interviews exploring survey findings in more depth. In the presentation, I will share the study methodology, information on the research tools as well as sharing the main findings of the study and its implications for the IBE community.

Serini Murugasen: Talk title -A series of small things - the early-career child neurologist as an advocate.
About the topic
Many believe that to have a big impact, you must do big things.  But in resource-constrained settings every little bit helps.  This talk uses examples of current projects to illustrate the ways in which early-career neurologists can make a difference.
