Topic: Fundamentals of Paediatric Neuroradiology for Clinicians
Lecturers: Kish Mankad (Speaker); Martin Hyland (Moderator)
When: 29 August 2025
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 AM Eastern Time (US / Canada )
About the topic:
The panel will focus on the essential principles of paediatric neuroradiology, aiming to bridge the gap between clinical practice and imaging interpretation for child neurologists and neuroradiologists. Expert speakers will review the fundamentals of neuroimaging modalities (MRI, CT, and advanced techniques such as DTI and functional imaging), key normal developmental milestones in brain imaging, and common pathological findings encountered in paediatric practice, including epilepsy, metabolic and genetic disorders, infections, and neuro-oncology. The session will highlight the critical role of neuroradiology in guiding clinical decision-making, improving diagnostic precision, and supporting timely therapeutic interventions and and optimizing interdisciplinary communication to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. Case-based discussions will further showcase practical approaches and pitfalls in everyday clinical practice.
Learning objectives:
- To provide professionals a comprehensive understanding of the core principles of pediatric neuroradiology and their importance in guiding diagnostic and treatment decisions.
- To improve interdisciplinary collaboration by helping clinicians interpret neuroimaging findings and implement them successfully in regular clinical practice.
